Another M’sian caught with porn
By Darshini Kandasamy     August 21, 2008      Categories: News

Yet another Malaysian was arrested in Adelaide for allegedly attempting to smuggle child pornographic material.

The unidentified 33-year old was apprehended by Customs officials at Adelaide International Airport on Aug 5 after they allegedly discovered the pornographic material during a baggage search upon arriving from Kuala Lumpur.

It was claimed by Australian Customs, “video files depicting females under the age of 18-years engaged in sexual acts and poses” were contained in a memory card uncovered in the course of the baggage search.

The man was then arrested and charged with “importation of goods in breach of Regulation 4A of the Customs (Prohibited Import) Regulations Act 1956.”

After having his passport confiscated, he was released on bail and was supposed to have appeared in Adelaide magistrate’s court on Aug 8.

Malay Mail was, however, unable to confirm the outcome.

If convicted, the man faces a maximum fine of A$275,000 (RM797,500) or 10 years imprisonment or even both.

This arrest came some six months after a Malaysian Airlines co-pilot was arrested in Adelaide International Airport on Feb 7 after three pornographic video clips, labelled Reped Virgin, 10-year-old and High School Students were found in his laptop when he arrived on a Kuala Lumpur flight.

One of the videos depicted a young girl tied to a bed while an older man was engaged in sexual acts with her.

The co-pilot, identified only as Ahmad Said, 25, was subsequently convicted in the South Australian court the next day for possession of child pornography and was fined A$5,000 (RM14,500). His laptop was seized.

Hi. Just to clarify, it is obvious underaged pornography is against the law and just sick but perhaps they should provide some "serious" guidelines to stop this frm happening. let the people know what is not allowed firmly.
