![]() New Year cheer
As a matter of fact, I find the process of setting out positive goals for oneself an extremely healthy thing to do. It’s just that my track record of following up on goodwilled intentions and aspirations is dismal, to say the least. Rather than set myself up for disappointment time after time, I have resolved not to make any resolutions, whatsoever. But this year is different. Inspired by the many noble efforts of friends and family alike, I have decided to make just one New Year’s resolution to stick to throughout double oh seven. Just one. Can’t be that tough right? So I sorted through the usual list of resolutions in search of one that I could most use. Diet and food? Well, not really an issue with me. I thought about habits. Bad habits. Hmmm. Couldn’t see any. Technically, since one cannot literally SEE bad habits, it must follow that there aren’t any, yeah? I thought to myself, “What would I like to do differently this New Year’s Eve?And the answer came to me like a beam of light from the Resolution Heavens. Amidst a chorus of angelic-sounding “Welcome to the light!chants, I stood rooted in the cheers of a host of approving resolution angels as I declared, “This year, this very special resolution year, I hereby resolutely resolve to have a quiet, stay-home, chill-out, sober New Year!(insert reverberating vocal sound effects here). But that doesn’t mean that Y’ALL can’t ring in the new year in style. So with that in mind, I have drawn up the different ways that you, the urban “resolution-er, can countdown the New Year in a quiet, stay-home, chill-out, sober manner ... After a drink of water and minutes of staring blankly at the computer screen, I have decided to modify my resolution somewhat. Just a tiny modifi cation. Nothing major. Something to spruce the whole thing up. I have removed the ‘quiet’ bit as well as ‘stay-home’ ‘chill-out’ and ‘sober’ so that this New Year’s, we are going to parrrtayyy! Woot! Now this is serious business. The whole town is going to be buzzing with massive parties, so what I’ve done is narrowed down the selection to three of the parties that I thought you might like. Actually, party fever starts on the 29th but we are just going to focus on countdown day. As usual, remember to set out for your choice party destination early! You don’t want to spend the countdown in the car. Transit: Sound Of Smoke @ Sepang International Circuit, KL. Location: Sepang International Circuit, KL Cars, dance music, the great outdoors. Sweet! Dubbed as Malaysia’s fi rst-ever high speed drifting event, Transit is the amalgamation of the Saturday Night Drift events held at the Speedway Plus Circuit Elite Highway. Then get ready to party as the evening falls with DJs Jungle Jerry, Groovedoctor, the lovely Desire, DJ Love and WllythKd as they take you on a musical drift with sounds ranging from deep sexy tribal house, progressive, melodic and hard trance and everything in between.
