Back in July, thousands of Akon fans in Malaysia were faced with disappointment as event organisers announced the postponement of his ‘Freedom Beach Concert’ due to personal reasons on Akon’s part. Hopes were high for a return visit, and it eventually turned into reality when Mr Aliaune “Akon” Thiam arrived on Oct 24, and he wowed crowds with his awesome performance on that very day.

For many, it was easily one of the best concerts of the year.

MARCTENSIA, organiser of Akon’s Freedom Beach Concert is offering fans a rare treat — a chance to meet Akon in the flesh before his concert on Oct 24 at Sunway Lagoon’s Surf beach.

The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is also extended to fans who have already purchased tickets for the concert, originally scheduled on July 2 but was postponed due of “urgent family matters.”

FANS of Akon will have to wait until Oct 24 to see the R&B sensation perform ‘live' in Malaysia.

Concert organiser Marctensia announced that the Akon Freedom Beach Party 2009, scheduled for Thursday, will be postponed due to Akon's urgent family matters in the US. The singer sent a video to Malaysian fans, apologising for any changes they would have to make.
