LONDON: Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas urged people to stop linking him to Barcelona but that looks unlikely to happen. The Fabregas to Barcelona story has been recycled numerous times over the past few years and reports emanating from Spain this week claimed the influential midfielder has already agreed to join the Catalans in the summer. Barca moved quickly to rubbish the rumours, however, and Fabregas did the same.

LONDON: Under-fire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger slammed the Press after criticism from Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack. Following Sunday's 2-0 loss which left the Gunners some nine points off the leaders, Wenger congratulated Chelsea on their efficiency but also claimed "we didn't get a demonstration of football".

Ballack responded by taunting the Gunners' inability to win big matches and to vary their tactics, declaring: "It is always the same style. If you play tactics like we did, you can beat them."

LONDON: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger conceded the Gunners were now "outsiders" for the title after losing 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this morning. Two goals in the firsthalf from Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba gave Chelsea the victory to help them move nine points clear of the Gunners.

However, Wenger refused to rule his team out of the title race and is optimistic Arsenal's rivals will drop further points before the end of the season.

LONDON: Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has refused to rule Arsenal out of the Premier League title race ahead of the London derby showdown at Stamford Bridge on Monday (12am).

The Gunners trail leaders Chelsea by six points with last weekend’s 3-1 defeat by Manchester United at Emirates appearing to bring their pursuit of the crown to a demoralising halt.
