KOTA BAHARU: Babies as young as a year old are at risk of being afflicted by various types of cancer, said Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) Health Science Studies Centre senior lecturer and nutrionist Dr Foo Leng Huat.

Foo said, according to initial studies carried out by the centre, among the factors causing babies to succumb to cancer included hereditary ones, the environment and illnesses suffered by the mother during pregnancy.
