FOUR South American robbers grabbed RM15,000 from a bank in Lucky Gardens, Bangsar yesterday but the ones who got away with most of it were Malaysian bystanders.

The public cash-grabbing frenzy broke out when one of the robbers, in his bid to elude bank staff and security, scattered notes amounting to RM14,000.

The robber, 45, was captured. His three accomplices escaped. Only RM1,000 of the RM15,000 that was originally in a bag was recovered.
