Bukit Antarabangsa landslide

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Antarabangsa residents will take two weeks to decide whether to proceed with legal action against the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council.

Bukit Antarabangsa Action Committee secretary-general Raymond Jagathesan told The Malay Mail yesterday the residents would come to a decision after going through the report.

However, he said a lawsuit would be the final option after all other avenues had been exhausted.

KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor says the Selangor State executive council, which had earlier stated it will take full responsibility over its actions to declassify the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report, can do whatever it wants.

“Let them do whatever they like,” he said at a media conference after attending the closing ceremony Meet-the- Customers Day and Innovation Award Presentation ceremony this morning.

Shaziman also questioned the Selangor government on its interest in declassifying the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government plans to declassify more secret reports on land matters that will benefit the public.

This will be an ongoing exercise by the State, and the declassification of reports will be based on social needs and the administrative work involved.

RAWANG: The Works Ministry is seriously considering taking action  against those behind the leaking of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report over the weekend.

Its minister, Datuk Shaziman Mansor, said this morning the ministry would consult its legal advisers on whether it should lodge a police report.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will not investigate how the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report was leaked onto the Internet.

Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Seri Rais Yatim said at the launch of the "Kembara Seniman Jelajah Malaysia" programme at Dataran Merdeka this morning that the public was free to "upload whatever is available on the Internet".

WHY did the Selangor government decide at the  11th hour yesterday not to release the much awaited Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report?

The effort by the State government to declassify the report last week has ended in vain, and it looks like the report will not be made public any time soon, for a Selangor government source disclosed the State could  have been “ill advised”on its move.

THE Selangor State government will be declassifying more reports, says executive councillor Ronnie Liu. But he declined to reveal what the reports would be.

Liu said the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report was the fifth to be declassified by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim with the powers accorded to him under Section 2C of the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

SELANGOR Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim did no wrong when he declassified the Bukit Antarabangsa report on Wednesday.

This was the view of lawyer Derek Fernandez (pic) who said Khalid acted within his powers.
