A CRIME wave in the Pandan Perdana area the past three weeks has residents worried.

Teratai assemblyman Jenice Lee said at least three of these were violent crimes.

She frequents the area and fears for her safety as well, Lee said, adding that the police really need to do something about the situation.

SELANGOR police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the crime-rate in the State till September this year, compared with last year, has dipped by a slight 6.21 per cent.

 

“There were 2,568 fewer cases reported this year, compared with last year.”

Khalid said the crime-solving rate has increased six per cent this year (46 per cent solved cases compared with 40 per cent last year).

NOBODY takes a after-dark stroll down the streets around Jalan Pudu without a heart-pounding fear of being robbed. We can now add another street to this list of unsafe places.

In April, Malay Mail highlighted the high number of snatch thefts and robberies at the "black triangle" of Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah especially during weekends.

THE ongoing massive crime prevention operation by the Kuala Lumpur police has already helped reduce crime rates in the city, especially in Sentul.

Sentul district police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan said results over the past two weeks have been encouraging.
