ATLETICO MADRID ace striker Diego Forlan’s future at Vicente Calderon has been the subject of speculation this summer but the Uruguay international looks set to stay with them — at least for a third year.

Forlan has been locked in talks with the club regarding an improved contract for the past weeks but the involved parties have been unable to come to terms.

LIVERPOOL are reportedly interested in Atletico Madrid’s prolific striker Diego Forlan but the Spanish club are confident the Uruguay international is happy and will stay on with them.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo believes Forlan will stay on at the club despite rumours persisting that he could join the Reds in the summer.
