MALAYSIAN company ETI Tech Corporation Bhd claims to be the first in the world to introduce a lithium-polymer based battery system for solar-powered homes.

ETI Tech Corp Bhd is currently in talks with a local car manufacturer to supply lithium polymer batteries for electric vehicles.

Its managing director K. K. Lee told Malay Mail yesterday that ETI Tech has been in discussions with a local car maker since the middle of the year.

“The talks are still in its early stage and it is ongoing. The feedback has been positive and we expect to get some confirmation in the next six to 12 months,” said Lee.

THE development of a renewable energy application may well be on the cards if all goes well for ETI Tech Corporation Bhd.

The MESDAW-listed company is currently in the midst of discussions with several ministries, including the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, to which ETI Tech’s officials claim to have garnered positive response.

MALAYSIA’s home-grown green technology battery and electric generator company, ETI Tech Corporation Bhd
has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with US electric vehicle pioneer ZAP to form a manufacturing and distribution joint venture.

The binding MoU is for the supply of ETI Tech batteries and battery management systems for ZAP personal transportation electric vehicles.

The two companies have also agreed to joint manufacturing and distribution and expect to execute a definitive agreement within the next three months.
