MUNICH: Bayern Munich star winger Franck Ribery admitted he may have to leave Germany in pursuit of trophies while revealing that France teammate Thierry Henry would love to see him at Barcelona.

"I get on very well with Henry. I know that he would like to see me there," Ribery told RTL Radio. "I know people want me to stay with Bayern. But whether I stay or go, it will not be an easy decision."

The 2008 German Footballer of the Year also revealed concerns that his career may pass him by without ever winning a major trophy.

According to Muencher Abendzeitung, the former German international made these statements during a meeting with the Seeoner Seedeife’n fan club.

Despite reports emerging from Spain yesterday that Real had not yet given up on signing the French international, he has now stated that he will not leave Bayern for Madrid.

BERLIN: Bayern Munich have increased playmaker Franck Ribery’s price tag to at least €100 million (RM496.4m).

The Frenchman’s future at the Bundesliga club has been in doubt for some time after Ribery himself expressed the desire to join Real Madrid despite a contract that runs until 2011.

“It was known to everyone we would sell him only before (July) 15,” club manager Uli Hoeness told ZDF television yesterday before the start of a friendly match between Bayern and AC Milan.

“We did not get the o er we wanted,” he said.

THE Franck Ribery transfer saga seems to have taken another twist with big spenders Real Madrid set to offer their players Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder plus cash in order to land the signature of the French winger from Bayern Munich.

A host of European clubs continue to track the 26-year old Ribery, who recently said his preferred destination would be to join up with international teammate Karim Benzema at Santiago Bernabeu next season.

BAYERN MUNICH executive chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has brushed aside talk that winger Franck Ribery might be leaving the club, saying he is staying.

Ribery has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena and yesterday morning gave the strongest hint yet that he would leave.

"I have made up my mind, I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing,” Ribery told L’Equipe.

Bayern are not about to change their stance though and Rummenigge told newspaper TZ that Ribery will not be going.

FRANCE legend Zinedine Zidane is in talks with Franck Ribery and has told the Bayern Munich ace midfielder a move to Real Madrid would be too good to turn down.

Zidane, who revealed on Saturday that Real were tracking Ribery, is trying to convince the Bundesliga side’s prized asset to make the switch to Santiago Bernabeu.

“I am in talks with Ribery,” said Zidane, who is an advisor to Real president Florentino Perez, to French newspaper Le Dauphine Libere.
