HALLOWEEN is here! That means it’s time for all to put on weird costumes, and fill the day trick-or-treating, attending parties, playing pranks, reading scary stories and watching horror films. Let’s paint the town black ...

But wait. Oh that’s right, we don’t really celebrate Halloween in Malaysia.

It is that time of the year once again. Fulfil your deepest, darkest fantasies by dressing up as your favourite character without everyone laughing at you or thinking you might have gone nuts.

Think Halloween, and dressing up and running about in costume or guising comes to mind.

You may not celebrate Halloween, but that doesn’t mean your digital self can’t get into the festive spirit. After all, of all the holidays out there, Halloween definitely has the potential to be the most fun. Santa Claus, snow and reindeers are all good, but honestly, wouldn’t you much prefer some skeletons, witches and scary pumpkins lighting up the place?

Here at Malay Mail, we certainly do. So we went scouring the internet (where else?) to bring you a glimpse of a techie All Hallows’ eve.

MADRID: Roman Catholic leaders sounded an alarm yesterday over the growing popularity of Halloween in
Spain, calling it “pagan,” “anti-Christian” and a celebration of death over life.

The director of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference’s Episcopal Committee on Liturgy, Father Joan Maria Canals,
faulted parents for encouraging children to dress up for Holloween, saying they should instead focus on All  Saints’ Day.

HALLOWEEEN is pretty much a dead thing in Malaysia. Just take a walk down any major shopping malls and you’ll get what we mean.

However, that being said, Halloween is not a completely lost cause in a country where we are suckers for all things scary. What’s more, one that gives you a perfect reason to party!

So we at Malay Mail, decided to do the dirty work and compile a little list of treats for those planning to party the weekend away. What kind of Halloween would it be without delights that would give you a sugar rush?
