THE Penang State government’s plan to table a heritage bill at the State assembly sitting to empower it to declare certain places in the State heritage sites may end up punishing people if not reviewed properly, the President of the Penang Heritage Trust, Dr Choong Sim Poey said.

 

NEARLY 140 years of history has been demolished. And all for a place for families to stroll about. Kuching recently lost a number of historical buildings on its waterfront and some locals are trying to save the two remaining from the wrecking ball.

But their pleas are being ignored.
