There is no beer at the Klang Sentral bus terminal. There aren’t many buses either.

And while the ruling coalition in Selangor continues debating beer and politics in Shah Alam, one part of the controversial Klang Sentral terminal closed its doors.

It only took nine months for Terminal B to shut down. And to many businesses, public transport operators
and bus users, it was not unexpected.

COME May 6, Klang Sentral’s fate will be decided. Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim promised the ongoing controversy will be resolved for the benefit of all parties, especially commuters. He admitted yesterday that the issue has been dragging on for too long.

THE Klang Municipal Council’s obstinate refusal to revise its overbearing approach towards the management of the Klang Sentral bus station has created a mess that must surely be painfully obvious to everyone.

And yet the council seeks to penalise a bus operator, RapidKL, should the company attempt to do what is merely reasonable to save its operations by seeking higher traffic elsewhere, notably at the old terminal in Klang
