MUAR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has urged the various communities in the country to be united and make Malaysia a highly developed nation.

He said although there were various races, religions, languages and cultures in the country all these differences were accepted since the nation became independent 52 years ago.

"We cannot ignore this solidarity as it is priceless and we are a Malaysian race. We may have different religions but we are a Malaysian family.

MELBOURNE: A leading Malaysian-born neurosurgeon, charged with supplying drugs to a woman found dead in his apartment, has been arrested by the police for allegedly breaching his strict bail conditions.

Suresh Surendranath Nair, 41, was picked up shortly after midnight Friday when Kings Cross detectives raided his apartment in Bondi, Sydney.

AGGRESSIVE tailgating and not using indicators are the most annoying habits of Malaysian drivers,  based on an online poll conducted by Malaysians Unite for Road Safety (Mufors).

According to Mufors, out of its 1,000 online survey participants, 11.2 per cent, or 112 respondents, felt that aggressive tailgating, which included forcing other drivers to make way and flashing of headlights, annoyed them most.

According to the Deputy Information, Communication and Culture Minister "news items were broadcast by the station based on certain criteria for worthiness, such as of national interest, they were current, had human interest elements and were of public interest. We have a committee that manages issues to determine their news worthiness".

"RTM covers all quarters, whether they are Barisan Nasional or not. For instance, we covered the recent Pas general assembly."
