AFTER reaching last week’s Indonesia Open semifinals and winning yesterday’s RM425,000 Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold 2009, it would be nice to think that Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong are finally back on track.

However, the fact that they struggled to impose themselves in the second tier tournament means there is still a lot of work to be done before they can be considered among the favourites at the World Championships in August.

CHINA have proven once again that when it comes to producing new talent, they are still the undisputed champions. Three titles in the just concluded Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold 2009 meant they were the biggest winners in Johor Baru.

Ma Jin, who won the mixed doubles with Zheng Bo and the women’s doubles with Wang Xiaoli was the queen of the court and biggest earner, taking home US$9,480 from the mixed and women’s doubles.
