LOS ANGELES: Michael Jackson’s brother Randy has criticised the media for filming and broadcasting footage of the King of Pop’s funeral.

“As a family, we are all aware of how Michael’s life, and his death, touched so many around the world. It is why  we held a public memorial in my brother’s honour,”  Randy Jackson said in a statement posted on entertainment site TMZ.com.

LAS VEGAS: Michael Jackson’s body will be laid to rest on Aug 29, the day the King of Pop would have turned 51, his father said. Joe Jackson (pic), 80, said the birthday burial at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Cemetery would be a private event, although he could not say which family members would be present.

The singing star’s interment is to be held more than two months after his June 25 death from heart failure.

LOS ANGELES: Attorneys handling Michael Jackson's estate say they have asked a judge to approve  an allowance for the singer's three children and his mother.

The request came yesterday from attorneys for two men who are serving as temporary executors of Jackson's estate. Paul Gordon Hoffman, an attorney representing the co-executors, said a judge will  consider the requests on Aug 3.

BOGOTA: A family in the Colombian town of Malambo told local media recently that it saw the ghost of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson while they were watching the music video of Jackson's hit Thriller.

The alleged ghost of the King of Pop first appeared as a chemical odour and then in a shadow of the singer.

"I told one of my children to turn off that video, and my son did not want to do it.

"I told him again to turn it off, because I could feel Michael Jackson's presence here with a smell of formaldehyde," Rocio Salazar told the RCN news.

The documents also show he had little cash on hand to finance his lavish lifestyle.

THE horrifying state of pop superstar Michael Jackson in his final days was revealed by The Sun yesterday.

The paper said that leaked autopsy details showed that the singer was a virtual skeleton who had been barely eating and had only pills in his stomach at the time he died.
