KUALA LUMPUR: Forty-two people, including a woman, were arrested for gambling at a squatter area in Pantai Dalam, here last night.

Twenty-four others were arrested for engaging in cock-fighting in Bandar Puteri Puchong Sunday.

Kuala Lumpur vice, gambling and secret society investigation department staff officer DSP Razali Abu Samah said those arrested in Pantai Dalam were four local men and 38 Indonesians aged between 19 and 65.

KUALA LUMPUR: A decomposed body was found floating in the Klang River in Kampung Limau, Pantai Dalam yesterday.

A passerby spotted the body and immediately alerted the police about noon. The deceased, believed to be in his 30s, was fully clothed but had no identification documents on him.

The body, which was injured in various parts including his head, was sent to University Malaya Medical Centre for post-mortem.

Brickfields deputy police chief Superintendant Azri Abd Rahman said the body could have been in the river for at least 48 hours.

KUALA LUMPUR : Brickfields police arrested five men at different places in Pantai Dalam in connection with 15 car break-in cases.

The breakthrough came after a 36-year-old female IT officer became the latest victim on March 16.

It was learnt the victim had parked her car at 9.50pm near Pantai Baru. When she returned an hour later, she found her car’s passenger window smashed and her laptop, in the back seat, missing.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 61 families occupying the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) longhouses at Pantai Dalam, whose names were not in the list of compassionate aid recipients for voluntarily moving out of the settlement last year, received the payment tonight.

The families received a cheque for RM1,000 each from Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin at Lembah Pantai here.

A total of 1,153 families from the longhouses in area C, Jalan Kubur Pantai Dalam, received the payment in October last year.
