MOAZ of Petaling Jaya finds the many road works on Jalan Masjid in Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara suspect as they have worsened its already poor condition.

"The road is narrow and bumpy, particularly the stretch between the mosque and Sprint Highway.

It is very congested because many motorists use it as a shortcut."

CHONG of Parkville Townhouse in Sunway Damansara complains that garbage collectors are exposing
residents to a trail of stench because the workers leave the rubbish chutes open after taking out the garbage bags.

"After the collectors are done, you can see the whole row of houses with exposed chutes." He says this will lead to yet another problem. "Stray cats and dogs will then rummage through the open garbage chutes and create a mess."

IF you get a summons from the Petaling Jaya City Council, don’t do the unthinkable by throwing it away.

 

You may find the Attorney-General’s Chambers breathing down your neck instead of the city council.

“The council has all along been prosecuting summons defaulters not under its name, but the AG’s,” said councillor Derek Fernandez.

DESPITE Petaling Jaya City Council’s appeal for an extension of time against the sealing of Jalan Tanjung Bandar Utama to traffic, the developer remains adamant.

Jalan Tanjung Bandar Utama was closed since Monday when it should have become a one-way street from tomorrow for six months.

Council deputy mayor Puasa Md Taib said they had a meeting with Bandar Utama City Corporation Sdn Bhd (BUCC) two days ago.

THE local plan for Section 13, Petaling Jaya has been finalised for submission to the State government.

Once gazetted, the master plan for the area will feature short, medium and long-term development plans aimed at easing traffic congestion and upgrading infrastructure to reduce the impact of development.

THE Petaling Jaya City Council says a review of the role of the Commissioner of Buildings (COB) has to
be undertaken if problems between residents and developers are to be addressed.

PJ mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman said the law under the Building and Common  Property Maintenance and Management, Act 663, (enforced in 2007) which encompasses COB, appears to be complicated for the officers to comprehend, let alone enforce.

“This law is relatively new in Malaysia, and it needs to be reviewed,” said Roslan yesterday.

TRAFFIC lights will soon  be placed around the Rothman’s roundabout in Petaling Jaya, to ease congestion in the area.

 

Subsequently, from the  roundabout and turning towards Jalan Harapan, the stretch will be linked to the Sprint Highway near the Tropicana City Mall and Damansara Intan. Work has begun at the area, which is adjacent to SS2.
