SHAH ALAM: The trial into the alleged criminal breach of trust (CBT) by an aide of a Selangor executive councillor got underway today at the Sessions Court here this morning.

Wong Chuan How, special assistant to Selangor exco Ronnie Liu, is on trial for CBT charges involving a RM2,500 cheque.

Sessions Court judge Mat Ghani Abdullah presided, Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Josiendra Abu Senin prosecuted while Wong was represented by counsel Imran Hadzalie Abdul Hamid.

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor government will not budge from its decision not to allow the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to question State employees after office hours.

State executive councillor for local government and research, Ronnie Liu, said although the Court of Appeal had yesterday ruled that the MACC can question witnesses after office hours, the State government would not allow this.

"We have to protect our people and this includes our assemblymen, councillors, civil servants, as well as myself," he told The Malay Mail.

THE Selangor State government will be declassifying more reports, says executive councillor Ronnie Liu. But he declined to reveal what the reports would be.

Liu said the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide report was the fifth to be declassified by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim with the powers accorded to him under Section 2C of the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

SELANGOR exco members Ronnie Liu and Ean Yong Hian Wah have both rubbished new claims in the controversial blog “Truth for Teoh Beng Hock”(http://t4tbh.blogspot.com/) that has been posting “evidence” accusing DAP members of siphoning funds from State coffers.

Responding to a posting that listed six projects all mysteriously costing RM9,990, that the blog claimed was Liu’s “feng shui number”, Liu said: “This is very funny and I think he is a stupid, stupid blogger.”

SELANGOR State executive councillor Ronnie Liu (pic) has scoffed at suggestions that the method of payment for some community programmes in Sungai Pelek involving his special assistant, Wong Chuan How, is questionable.

Liu, who was responding to queries whether it was procedurally right for cheques meant for the programmes be made under Wong’s name, said this method had been “used for the past 50 years”.
