The Isuzu D-Max is one of the best looking pick-up trucks in the market so it is no surprise that it has a strong following. Couple that with their off-road rally success and Dakar exploits and the number of fans increase.

With good looks and a powerful and famously reliable engine (Isuzu is the world's largest producer of heavy diesel engines) the D-Max is a vehicle that appeals both to the heart, mind and pocket.

Despite tough market conditions last year, Isuzu sold a record number of D-Max, 5,048 units left the showroom.

No doubt many of the buyers are thinking that if they drive it with a light right foot, they can repeat Bernard Chin's epic Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur drive on just one tank of fuel but Bernard will probably tell them that it was no Sunday drive.

To be fair, the D-Max is a fuel sipper and you probably can save a few ringgit with every thankful. Who doesn't want to save money?
