That was the message given by Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) for suggesting the State government sign an anti-corruption agreement to ensure there was no hanky-panky in the State's RM10bil effort to clean up Sungai Klang.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor government has identified 600 slope areas as potential landslide sites, said Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

He said of this number, 28 areas were stringently monitored as they were considered high-risk spots.

Declining to state the locations involved, Khalid said the State government would also gazette Class 3 and Class 4 slopes (slopes with 25 degree and 35 degree gradients) in Bukit Antarabangsa and around Selangor to avoid any development in those areas.

PUTRAJAYA: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim need not pay RM66.67 million to Bank Islam Malaysia (BIMB) as the Court of Appeal here today set aside the summary judgment obtained by the bank against him for failure to settle an Islamic loan facility that he took to buy shares.

Justices Datuk Zainun Ali, Datuk Jeffrey Tan Kok Wha and Datuk Syed Ahmad Helmy Syed Ahmad unanimously allowed Abdul Khalid's appeal with costs.

BANTING: About 20,000 people turned up at the Chinese New Year open house hosted by the Selangor Government at the Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Dong Zen temple in Jenjarom tonight.

The event which began at 6pm, was attended by Selangor state excos, state assemblymen, members of parliament. Also present were heads of government departments and those from the private sector.

Apart from various cultural shows, lion and dragon dances were also held at the event.

SHAH ALAM: Some 1,000 members of Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) and Selangor Umno marched from the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz mosque to the Selangor State Secretary Building here today to protest the Selangor government's handling of the quit rent issue involving Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK).

The group, led by Selangor Umno information chief Abdul Shukor Idrus and Selangor Perkasa president Mansor Abdullah, submitted a memorandum to the Selangor Menteri Besar's political secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

KUALA SELANGOR: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today it is too late for Yayasan Melaka to come to the aid of Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) Selangor to settle the arrears in quit rent amounting to RM5.7 million.

He said this was because the arrears was for eight years.

"One year is okay, (but) it is eight years, too long. Now there is transparency and accountability, we have to be transparent," he told reporters after opening the Worldwide Holdings Bhd's waste disposal centre at Bukit Kerayong, Jeram here.

SUNGAI BULOH: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim does not believe that Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president Azmin Ali is behind a conspiracy to topple his leadership.

He said the recent resignation of 11 Kuala Selangor PKR committee members including the Youth and Wanita chiefs had nothing to do with Azmin.

"It is just a tale. Kuala Selangor PKR committee which met yesterday gave me full support to lead the division," he told reporters after giving aid to senior citizens in Ijok constituency at Taman Desa Coalfields here Sunday.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government will prepare a detailed report on the funds, assets or land that had been contributed to Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) since it was set up, said Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The report was to clarify the status of the state government's participation in the welfare body, he said at a news conference after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.
