SHAH ALAM: Teoh Beng Hock (pic) was conscious while falling from the 14th floor of Plaza Masalam here on July 16 last year.

Court-appointed forensic pathologist Dr Shahidan Md Noor today testified to this, based on his findings from the second post-mortem, at coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas' court during the inquest into Teoh’s cause of death this morning.

ALOR GAJAH: The family of the late Teoh Beng Hock yesterday expressed gratitude to the government for having granted its request for the use of his surname for the son born to Beng Hock's fiancee Soh Cher Wei.

Beng Hock's elder sister Lee Lan, 30, said the family was overjoyed when informed by the National Registration Department in Putrajaya that Beng Hock would be named as the father in the child's birth certificate.

PENANG: The DAP took to task the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for lodging a police report against Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand.

Its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said this was the first time in Malaysian history that accusations had been made against a pathologist for carrying out his or her duties.

SHAH ALAM: Two officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today lodged police reports against the "Suara Keadilan" tabloid newspaper and pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand of Thailand over an article which confirmed as murder the death of Selangor political aide Teoh Beng Hock who had been questioned by the MACC.

The officers, Hisham Mohd Yusoff, 30, and Raub Ghani, 41, of the Putrajaya MACC investigation branch, made the reports at about 10.30am at the Shah Alam district police headquarters here.

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no political motivation behind the police move to question Penang Chief Minister  Lim Gian Eng or any attempt to cover up the real reasons behind the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock.

"What is politically motivated? He made the statement while an inquest is going on. To me, it's just an attempt to create hatred among public against a government agency," Musa told a meet-the-media session at his Bukit Aman office.

He said Lim had committed an offence and all police were doing was to investigate it.

KUALA LUMPUR: Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) director-general Datuk Ibrahim Yahya (pic) is baffled by the decision to lodge a police report against him.

Ibrahim, also known as Tiger, told The Malay Mail this morning that he had not accused anyone of threatening him.

"It was never my intention to defame anyone from the first day I started blogging," he said.

KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will be called up this week for allegedly making seditious comments on Teoh Beng Hock's death during a speech at the first convention of Pakatan Rakyat on Dec 19.

Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar told The Malay Mail this morning that Lim would be contacted to assist in investigation over his remarks that prompted a police report to be lodged against the latter last Monday.

"We will call him to set up the date this week to record his statement," said Khalid.
