THE "Judas Cradle" was allegedly used by the Spanish Inquisition to maintain Catholic orthodoxy among the community from 1478 to 1834.

The victim, usually naked, was hoisted and lowered on to the point of the pyramid. The point was inserted into the anus, vagina or under the scrotum or coccyx.

This torture device was mainly used to stretch the anus or vagina and also to induce pain.
