CHEW wonders why it is taking such a long time for a tree posing a danger to her house in Kajang to be cut down.

She said she called the  Kajang Municipal Council on June 19 and asked its Landscape Department to send someone to chop off a big tree that has been resting precariously on the retaining wall behind her house.

"We would have cut down the tree ourselves, but it's dangerous to do so. We've tried appointing a contractor,
who wanted RM350 for the job. Money is not the issue, but we do not want to be summoned by the council as the tree is on public land."

LIM of Ampang is not happy with a tree growing in front of her house.

Afraid that it could topple any time, she contacted the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council five or six years ago, but nothing was done. Since then, the tree has  grown and extends across the front of her garden.

"Five or six years ago, it was quite small and easy to get rid of. Now, the trunk is so thick, I'm afraid it will be harder to remove the tree."
