It was not directed at Hindus, says Ibrahim Ali
PASIR Mas MP Datuk Ibrahim Ali says the protest in Section 23, Shah Alam, should be viewed as “non-racial and non-partisan”.
Ibrahim, who is chairman of Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa), said his organisation had conducted its own investigation and found that the protest was carried out by supporters or members of three political parties — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Pas and Umno.
“We found that they were not incited in anyway nor were they incited by any quarters. There were no party sentiments involved as far as we know,” he said.
“Their problem was that the Selangor State government did not consult or get their opinion before making the decision to build a temple there.
“The cow head was directed at the Menteri Besar and his exco, not at Hindus,” he added.
Ibrahim said the problem that was not highlighted was the temple was a hideout for gangsters and many police reports were lodged on this.
He claimed some residents who complained were victimised with the number 303 painted on their homes.
“Thus, it should be understood by all that the cow head is not a racial issue in this protest.”
Last Friday, a small group of residents of Section 23 marched to the Selangor State Secretariat building bringing along a cow head after Friday prayers.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had directed the police to investigate the matter.
