Boys Like Girls and Lenka to headline H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ finale
Thursday, October 1st, 2009 15:10:00
Featuring a total of four distinctive but phenomenal artistes, the line-up promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Bringing to life its trademark repertoire, ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ promises a colourful mish-mash of music, long drinks and sophisticated clubbers all in one astral party — H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’.
Revellers can expect to be blown away with yet another show-stopping round of world-class acts, as Boston-bred rock band, Boys Like Girls and Australian singer-songwriter, Lenka have been confirmed for the Oct 2 event to be held at Club Quattro in Avenue K.
Having sold over 580,000 albums in the United States alone and with chart-topping hits such as The Great Escape and Thunder, rock quartet Boys Like Girls are most definitely the ones to watch. They’ve toured and performed the world over with other established bands such as Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Metro Station, and The All American Rejects, and their appearance at H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ marks only their second visit to Malaysian shores.
Joining the boys on the H-Artistry stage is Australian television actress and songstress, Lenka, who is most famous worldwide for her hit single The Show. The single which has peaked the charts at number one in countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Poland, has also been featured on the UK and European Hot 100 charts. Her self-titled album, Lenka meanwhile, broke into the American Billboard 200. Through her vocal stylings which offer a juxtaposition of catchy pop and layered, complicated world music influences, Lenka’s performance at H-Artistry is sure to mesmerise many.
Making up the line-up from the West on Oct 2 is pop-rock musician, Paul Freeman whose music sounds like a combination between Oasis's pensive, power pop and Bruce Springsteen's arena rock bravado. His most impressive musical talent lie in his unique and magical ability to connect with his audience through the powerful lyrics in his songs such as The Girl Who Broke In Two, Earthquakes, and You and I which he wrote. One such person who understood the magic of Paul’s music was legendary record producer, Clive Davis, who signed him up personally.
Staying true to H-Artistry’s innovative approach in blending musical genres of the East and West, the event will also see Taiwanese musician, Hsiao Hung Jen take the stage. With a voice hauntingly familiar to that of a particular Korean superstar, Hsiao has even collaborated in the books with Asian pop guru, Jay Chou. In fact, Jay Chou was so impressed by this newcomer that not only did he personally direct Hsiao’s Watch The Sleeves Go Down music video, he even worked on the script and adjusted the lighting effects himself! This plus a nomination in Taiwan’s 20th Golden Melody Awards this year not only cements Hsiao as one of the Eastern stars of the future but also one to look out for at next month’s H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’.
Besides showcasing a spectacular blend of live music from the world’s finest artistes, clubbers will be treated to a top-notch, top-class affair where the entire experience is sprinkled over with class and style, featuring also its ‘Art of Mixing’ arena where an exploration of sight, taste and sound takes place.
Revellers can dive into creating their own visuals and music at the experiential zone. Plus, there will be more than just music reverberating through the club walls. Intensely overriding the sound waves of Quattro, Avenue K, this mystique hot-spot will be transformed into an attractive mixing palette of cosmopolitans and party enthusiasts alike.
Starting up from 8pm till late, H-Artistry will be serving its preferred alcoholic beverage, Hennessy V.S.O.P long drinks to create the perfect atmosphere of ‘The Global Art of Mixing’.
Passes to H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ at Quattro is by invite only. To obtain invitations to tomorrow's event, log on to www.h-artistry.
