LOVELY PAIR: GETACAR hosts Adian and Lynn

PEOPLE who love cars will somehow look at anything in terms of motoring sensibilities. Autophiliacs, for example, will describe their choice of women like this: “Women are like cars. We all want a Ferrari, sometimes a pickup truck, and end up with a station wagon”.

These folks would also base their whole lives on cars — be it the measure of their success, to the icon of their personalities.

“I’m a Beemer guy (I’m rich and I love driving), not a Merc (I’m rich and I want to show that I’m rich)”. It has become some sort of religion in itself. So what a good news it was that ntv7 began running a series specifically
made for the car-freaks out there, called GETACAR, since last August.

The show, an initiative of Paragon Publishing (publishers of the popular GETACAR motoring magazine) and sponsored by CIMB Preferred, CIMB Bank’s priority banking franchise - covers all kinds of rides, from the luxury brands to the practical, from road-scorching supercars to the family movers.

Programme hosts are seasoned professional racer Adian Yein, and the beautiful Lynn Teoh. Every week, they take viewers on a motoring extravaganza of the cars featured that include Ford Focus S, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 207 Coupe Cabrio, Mazda RX8, Mazda 3 Sport, Porsche Cayman S, Kia Rondo, Kia Optima Audi A6 and the Honda City.

The bad news is that, if you’ve never caught the show, the season is ending this week. However, if there’s one episode you should catch, it would be the finale airing Oct 21 at 7.30pm.

The last programme would highlight some of the cars previously featured on the show being judged in different categories for two main awards - The People’s Choice Award and Performance Car Award. So, if you’re a geniune car-buff waiting to get your fix, tune in to ntv7 this Wednesday.
