EXPECT no less than a convoy of Harley Davidson motorcycles to open the night for Hard Rock Café Penang recently.

Kicking off its presence in style, the V.I.P grand opening celebration also included a multicultural drum performance, live bands and guitar smashing, which Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, took part too, in spirit of Hard Rock.

He was there to also officiate the opening of the new café. Guests of the night were treated to some of Hard Rock Café’s most scrumptious specialties while listening to soothing music rendition by Arthur Manuntang and a thrilling live performance by Malaysian legendary rock stars Ella and Zainal Abidin.

When Ella and Zainal Abidin donated their memorabilia to Hard Rock International in June this year, they became the first Malaysians to do so.

Their memorabilia is currently displayed at the mezzanine floor of the Hard Rock Cafe Penang. Models also showcased Hard Rock’s latest, trendiest merchandise over a fashionable catwalk amid the crowd to the guests’ surprise, on the ground floor and at the mezzanine.

Later in the night, the guests partied away to an electrifying live band performance by The Groove Company.
The second Hard Rock Café in Malaysia, it is located at the ground floor of Hard Rock Hotel Penang, a modern and chic beach resort that recently opened its doors in Batu Feringghi Beach.

The cafe seats 130 persons with a live band stage and a Rock Shop which sells Hard Rock’s latest and limited edition merchandise.

The Hard Rock Cafe Penang opens from 11am till 2am from Sunday to Thursday and 11am till 2.30am daily. Not forgetting the essence of Hard Rock Cafe the music, the heart and soul of Hard Rock.
