Head on to Uncle Chilli’s, Hilton Petaling Jaya this Sunday, Nov 8 from 2pm to 1am for a spot of fun and do your bit for charity as the annual Charity Jam Session will be celebrating its 10th year.

Initiated by organising chairman, SS Raja in the year 2000, it was never expected that it would continue its run after the first session.

“We had quite a loyal following since the first session. There was quite an enthusiastic enquiry on when the next session will happen. Since then, the Charity Jam Session has continued till today,” said Raja.

Being in the hospitality industry, Raja has come to know quite a number of bands. Of course, it came as  something natural that a charity session be held by getting the best bands in the industry to perform. There are even times when bands would approach Raja, requesting to lend a hand in  helping out with the charity.

A total of 14 bands will be performing for the night, including  Gerhana Ska Cinta, Extreme and Sharin Band.
mong them, Malay Mail has had the chance to speak to both and Sharin Band. Excited to be part of the line-up, both bands are looking forward to having a good time with the audience this Sunday by pumping energetic
songs to the floor.

This year, the Charity Jam Session aims to raise a quarter of a million in aid of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Proceeds will be channelled to PICU while 10 per cent of it will be donated to the Malay Mail Care Fund.

For those who want to give a hand and have a good time, food and beverage coupons priced at RM10 per ticket will be pre-sold.

These coupons will also be available on the day of the event. Guests will stand a chance to win  complimentary  food and beverage as well as accommodation vouchers, hampers as well as participate
in the Dutch Auction on that day itself.

The Charity Jam Session is jointly organised by the Malaysian Associations  of Hotels  (MAH), Chefs Association of Malaysia (CAM), The Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives (MFBEA), Malaysian of Housekeepers (MAHIR) together with Hilton Petaling Jaya.
