MCA leaders are calling for investigations by a panel into the ‘’snoop squad’’ to be made public to satisfy members, especially those who were called as witnesses Datuk Yap Pian Hon, in agreeing with the call made by deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, said he wanted to know the “whole thing because I was one of the witnesses”.

Dr Chua had called on the panel to reveal its findings into the “snoop squad” before a briefing for Perak MCA members on party issues in Ipoh on Sunday.

Dr Chua said he would love to see the report as he was affected. Yap said when he was called to testify, he was shocked to find there were no references to what was being investigated.

“When I asked, they said they were trying to get feedback on the feelings of grassroots members on the party and leadership. “There were no terms of reference,” he said.

Yap said the investigation panel must be transparent in its findings on the ‘snoop squad’ to allow for trust and credibility in the leadership.

“Or else, members and the community may think the present leadership is hiding facts,” he said.

“If that is the assumption, then it will be quite difficult to restore credibility,” he said.

Central delegate Datuk Chong Jit Chew said the call made by the deputy president was fair as many complaints were received.

He also agreed the investigation should be made public to allay fear and allegations.

“Make it transparent,” he said.

The first member to call for the findings of the panel to be revealed was Puchong MCA vice-chairman Datuk Theng Book.

In an earlier report this week, he said he found three volumes of the MCA investigation panel report on the existence of a “threeman secret committee” dated June 10, last year in a box outside his office two weeks ago.
