Police to call up Seri Kembangan assemblyman over alleged intimidation

Sunday, December 27th, 2009 16:07:00

KUALA LUMPUR: Seri Kembangan state assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah is to be called up by the police over a statement he had made which allegedly intimidated the police.

Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said today Hian Wah's statement in the media directing the police to cease their investigation of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng seemed like an attempt to intimidate the police.

"I wish to stress that the Honourable Member should not try to intimidate us by directing us to cease the investigation of Guan Eng," he told reporters at a gathering between the people and the police, here.

He said Hian Wah would be called up soon to have a statement recorded to help in an investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Khalid had said earlier that the Penang chief minister would be questioned for claiming, at the Pakatan Rakyat convention in Shah Alam on Dec 19, that Selangor political aide Teoh Beng Hock, who died after a fall at the Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam, was murdered.

I am perplexed as to the necessity of making police reports for every known or possible or even probably criminal intent. We should distingushied whether it neccessitate a police report otherwise the entire police force will be bogged down with thousands of reports. Malaysia should rank # 1 in highest number of police reports being filed by its citizens. This record should be published in the Guiness World Book of records. I think Datuk Khalid is not well versed with Law as he thinks by calling up people who made negative comments pertaining to a specific incident would intimidate them. This is uncalled for as it is clearly stated by the CM in the media. To the Penang CM's mind, Teoh was murdered, so be it. That is his expression of his opinion. Let the courts decide. This is a homicied case which happens to involved a political figure. The police should not intimidate the public just to flex their muscle. I suggest Datuk should refrain from making further "silly" remarks. Let the police spokesman issue proper statements should there be one. Datuk should concentrate in managing his police force in his state, controlling the crime level and bringing criminals to justice, educating the residents on crime prevention and policing his state. Happy new year datuk, like most malaysian say....."take it easy"

Why so much of fuss !!!. Police after politicians for wrong doings and otherwise, too. Think all these guys who are designated to protect rakyat and the country should just do their job without any corruption/murders/thefts/etc to maintain peace amongst all races in this country. Hope somebody will open these guys eyes and say - this is enough and stop this nonsense now and move forward.

When someone is a witness against a mafia boss, who is more likely to murder that witness? The police that want to catch that mafia boss or the mafia boss himself?

Aforesaid is nothing but a conspiracy. Should there be a legal case, it is only a defamation case. defamation case is only a civil case and it has nothing to do with the police. Police duty is to take care of and protect every malaysian and not otherwise. Aforesaid indicate an abuse of power, a conspiration and/or otherwise of the police. Accused can take legal case against policy for abused of power, breached of duty of care, defamation, and even conspiracy with such things as the ISA around.

We never heard of any probelms from the other 12 states involving the Police! Our advice to Khalid Abu Bakar is to tackle the rising of crime which should be the main priority rather than to silence the 1 Rakyat representative! What a shame Police lodging the report to enable the Police themselves to carry out investigation! Very wierd indeed. No logic at all. Making the whole world laughed of such an idiotic characters of 1 Malaysia! It is better for Khalid Abu Bakar to resign and involved himself in politics and join UMNO!

There are a lot of seditious and racial remarks made by a lot of the ruling party politicians and my question is, are the police acting on it? Why the biasness? FREEDOM OF SPEECH dead in Malaysia or have we ever had one? Suppression of the rakyat is a very dangerous game and I hope those BOYS in the ruling government and those little boys in blue knows that as well!!!!

Why is the police wasting time to involve themselves in political rivalry? Somebody made a bad remark and somebody else from the other party make a police report and the police get rope in to investigate? If I were the reporting officer, I will just say terima kasih and shove the report under stacks of unresolved cases. How can the police lift up their image if in the midst of the Nurins and Sharlinies, they are all powered to investigate about some political remark? I rather read more news of police catching bad guys than reading about the police becoming pawns in the political game. I want to know that my fellow police officers are performing their main duty ie. Fight Crime!

2009 is coming to an end and we are welcoming the new year 2010 in a few days. In 2009 and before, our police force had been allocated too much resources to investigate politicians instead of its usual role to fight crimes. So, how do you expect our crime rate to drop. In 2010, I hope PDRM should emphasized 100% of its manpower on crime prevention instead of getting involve in politicking. If he chooses to get involve, then it will be better for them to quit the police force and join their beloved political party. Not only the crime rates has been rising but the solving rates are equally low especially high profile cases such as murder, rape, etc.. Malaysians already feeling the heat especially those who lives in the city due to economic recession, don't you think that PDRM should put in additional efforts in combating the menace from getting worst while city dwellers have worry free nights of sleep.

Very, very true. The fact that most housing estates in the Klang Valley employ private security firms to safeguard their lives and properties, paints a negative picture of the police force. Why are they depending on foreigners to protect them? Can anyone tell me?

They are many poor people in Klang Valley that become thugs, thanks to the current Pakatan Riot government that spend more money from the reserve for their political gains rather than create jobs for rakyat.

I am soory to say that your above statements do not fit into the subject of these postings/comments. Find a more suitable column to vent your frustration please. You are only littering the space.

There are opinions and opinion. So far, the Teoh Beng Hock saga has been unveiled like a Bollywood story by the various media. And I have been telling it to people at various gatherings such as birthday parties, private functions, the internet via chat, facebook, etc etc. AND I BELIEVE THAT Teoh was killed! MURDERED!! It is what I believe from the materials published by the media[THANK YOU]. And THAT IS MY CONCLUSION from what I have been exposed to. I am not being malicious and I have a clear conscience telling my audience that!!! There is a saying [Confucius?]...1 gram of pure gold put through the greatest fire will yield the same 1 gram in weight. IF THE GOLD HAS IMPURITIES THEN THE EVENTUAL WEIGHT WILL BE LESS. So, 100% PURE GOLD IS NOT AFRAID OF THE HIGHEST FIRE. IT WILL COME OUT SHINIER!! Come-on!!! Do a damn good job and prove transparently that we are idiots who have been sucked in. That's your opportunity!! By the way, some of my taoist/buddhist audience thinks that the MACC Offices are " dirty" and has to be " cleaned". The occupants have to appease the unhappy spirits during the " MONTH OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS" AS IT HAPPENED IN JULY. That's another clus to the TBH case.

MURDERED by who exactly? I can bet he was murdered by the person who did not want him to become a witness for the MACC... Maybe some gangsters controlled by those under the investigation of MACC.... This is a conspiracy of the highest level... hehehe Yeah i would go with the conspiracy theory reason just like the reason used by a so called someone trying to delay his sodomy case.

Submitted by DuraZaman on Tuesday, December 29th, 2009.
Zam....U try and get into MACC's Offices in the early hours of the morning??? Or are you saying that there is/are corrupt personnel in MACC working for outside party/ies??? I think you are out of line with the "sodomy" bit though. Looks like you have a personal agenda or grudge against someone!!! This is not acceptable!!! Vent that somewhere else please.
