PUTRAJAYA, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Non-governmental organisation Bersih Bangun Selangor (Bebas) today filed a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim over the UiTM campus project issue as reported by the Malay Mail on Jan 6.

Bebas chairman Mohd Abdul Raof Mokhtar said the Selangor government had directed Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) to install Khalid as its chairman or stop all its development on the 179.2-hectare (448 acres) UiTM campus project site in Serendah.

"I find that there is an element of threat towards YBK. So, we are reporting the matter to the MACC for it to be investigated. This UiTM project costing RM300 million is good for the people," he told reporters at the MACC lobby.

Abdul Raof will be submitting a 23-page report including newspaper cuttings, letters and minutes of meetings on the project.

YBK, a foundation set up by former Selangor MB Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib for poverty eradication, has never had an MB as its chairman, but is managed by a board of trustees with the current chairman being Datuk Zainal Abidin Sakom.
