INNOVATIVE PIPE-CLEANING
In an exclusive interview with The Malay Mail, chairman and managing director, Anand Nagpal, who is involved in the property business, said the company’s branch in India and Middle East will also start operations in the
second quarter of this year.
“Malaysia, India and the Middle East are also our targets as these nations have the biggest market potential."
Established sometime in November last year, the firm's key advantage is that it is the only company providing eco-technology pipe-cleaning services to a broad spectrum of commercial and residential clientele on a national basis using Japanese-developed technology.
The technology is claimed to be the first — as it uses an advanced water pipe hydro dynamic cleaning technology. As such, the cleaning process is chemical-free and suitable for all types of pipe materials — including galvanised iron and polyvinyl chlorine pipes.
The firm has already invested about RM5 million to start its operations in Kuala Lumpur, with the bulk going towards the specialised equipment used.
Chief executive officer, Melvin Lam, said the firm is in talks with various condominium and building management companies on the services offered and expressed confidence that E-DR Pipes will be able to secure several major contracts over the next few months.
Lam said the company has already started its pipe-cleaning operations at individual households.
“We are looking at up to 3,000 cleaning operations a month. By linking with credit card companies with easy payment schemes, we are confident of achieving this target.”
On overseas plans, Nagpal said the company is targeting big cities in India. Meanwhile, in the Middle East, the firm is looking at countries like the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
He added that RM5 million has been allocated for operations in the Middle East, with another RM10 million at least for India alone.
“We will start with 100 units of cleaning machines in all these countries and increase the number according to needs.”
When asked about expansion plans to other countries in Asia, Nagpal said the company is considering tie-ups with local business partners in these markets.
“We are leaving that option open for those interested in getting franchise licences."
