IN NEED OF REPAIRS: The broken swings

USJ

DAMAGED: Tunnel apparatus for children

YEW of Subang Jaya is worried about the deplorable state of the playground in his neighbourhood. He says the playground in Jalan USJ 11/3M poses a danger to children as the play equipments are in poor condition and are hazardous to users. There are also broken bottles scattered everywhere. "I have complained twice to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council and I hope they will not delay taking action."

A COUNCIL spokesperson says a site visit to the playground on Jan 22 reveals that most of the damaged playground equipments was due to vandalism.
"An appointed contractor will start work on repairing the recreational equipments on Feb 15, while maintenance of the park, including a cleaning-up of the rubbish and broken bottles, was also carried out on Jan 22," she says.
