Dine and gather your fortunes this Chinese New Year

West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa welcomes the Year of the Tiger with bountiful menus and prizes to reward diners.

 

In honour of the annual celebration, from now till Sunday, Feb 28, the Restaurant's award-winning Chinese Master Chef Chan Choo Kean concocts and serves up an array of flavourful prosperity dishes infused with the finest, premium ingredients befitting the occasion.

To make it a fulfilling celebration, diners who spend RM888++ and above in a single receipt at West Lake Garden during the Chinese New Year promotion, have the opportunity to "pluck" an ang pow and win either cash, dining or room stay vouchers.

There are good choices offered in the Chinese New Year set menus including a la carte specialties and traditional Yee Sang, available for lunch and dinner. For celebration and reunion dinners, West Lake Garden lays out four selections of 8-course and 9-course Chinese New Year set menus, priced from RM898++ to RM2010++ per table of 10 persons.

For smaller parties, diners can choose from two options of 6-course and 7-course set menus, priced from RM88 ++ to RM128++ per person for a minimum order of two persons. West Lake Garden is open for lunch from 12pm to 2.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am to 2.30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. Dinner is served from 6.30pm to 10.30pm on Mondays to Sundays.

Chill at 7atenine

White Nite kick starts the New Year at the newly decked up 7atenine which reopened recently with an edgier, sexier new look after a month’s renovation.

Known as one of the Architects of Kuala Lumpur’s well established dance scene, Acid takes the lead — displaying his flair on the decks and keeping the crowd entertained. Acid graces the decks for White Nite at 7atenine this Saturday at 10.30pm.

Guests dressed in all white can enjoy Bootylicious — a Martini cocktail on the house.

Complimentary strawberries dipped in chocolate and a late supper is served to night birds. Feast your eyes on tantalising acts while the hypnotic sounds of ethnic drums and sitar melds with the pulsing house music.

A Chinese New Year Flea Market

The Sunway Sunday Flea Market is a regular affair at Sunway Lagoon Club every first Sunday of the month. In view of the upcoming festive season this month, the Market has been converted to a Chinese New Year Bazaar.

Fancy watching a free Japanese film?

There will be a screening of Japanese film Rainbow Kids / Daiyukai (119 minutes) this Saturday at Pawagam Mini P. Ramlee, FINAS (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia). This film, which starts at 3pm, is directed by Okamoto Kihachi.

In a bid to offer a tangible benefit and encourage more Malaysians to take apples during the CNY season, the Washington Apple Commission is introducing a special Chinese New Year festive pack.

 

These festive packs contain nine apples and make an attractive gift for friends and family during visitations over the festive period. These special gift packs were also contributed to several citizens as a charitable move to keep elderly Malaysians healthy over the New Year period.
