KUALA LUMPUR: Licensed Internet related service provider Macro Lynx Sdn Bhd this morning signed a collaborative partnership agreement with Maxis Berhad to provide ICT services to Malaysia's first grade A++ commercial centre GTower at Jalan Tun Razak here.

Macro Lynx chief operating officer Rick Ng said the tie-up will boost GTower's multimedia convergence capability, crucial for adapting to new ways of doing business in the 21st century.

Under this collaborative agreement, Maxis and Macro Lynx will provide a full suite of end-to-end fixed solutions to tenants of GTower — Malaysia's first internationally certified green and low energy commercial building.

Maxis' fixed solutions services include fixed voice, fixed data, IP services and Metro E (business Ethernet and business Internet).

As one of the broadband service providers for GTower, Macro Lynx has ready-made fibre to the premises, highly scalable and prompt services of up to 10 gigabyte traffic to customers upon request.

The partnership aims to ensure that both technologies are integrated and interoperable, so that their combined customers may  enjoy enhanced services.

Ng said GTower's unique secure open network infrastructure means there is a multiple service provider backbone. He added that although Macro Lynx is partnering with Maxis, customers at GTower can choose any telecommunications provider of their choice.

Maxis vice-president and head of enterprise and carrier business Fitri Abdullah said Macro Lynx would be able to leverage off Maxis' fixed fiber network which allows both parties to expand their fixed network service area and improve on services to customers.

"We realise the growth potential for green and smart buildings like GTower and recognise the collaboration to boost business connectivity vital for moving vast amounts of data in the most efficient, affordable and secure way possible," Fitri said, adding that Maxis plans to connect 100 to 150 commercial buildings this year.

Macro Lynx is a wholly owned subsidiary of private equity investor Goldis Berhad, a public listed company on the Bursa Malaysia.
