Book Review: Angels fall down too

Fallen
Title: Fallen
Author: Lauren Kate
Publisher: Doubleday
Rating: 7/10

This dark, gothic romance is the perfect ingredient to feed the minds of young adults and all hopeless romantics.

It follows much in the footsteps of Twilight, only that it is not vampires but fallen angels who claw and battle their way through the realities of everyday life, all in the name of love (and some lust).

One may find the book pleasing; it has all the elements of a guilty pleasure.

Just like Twilight (and probably every other chick lit), the story-telling in Fallen may be a tad slow but still annoyingly engaging all the same.

The characters in the book are fairly interesting. Delve deep into your imagination and they can be fascinating. The author tries hard to create an element of surprise in the plot, and succeeds in some.

Grab the book. The haunting, soulful cover will look nice in your collection.
