It's all love for Haiti

Owner of the restaurant, actor Patrick Teoh initiated the cause simply named 'Dine For Haiti'. All donations and proceeds from the evening at the popular spot will be channeled to the Haitians through www.avaaz.org.
"Although the earthquake in Haiti has had a disastrous impact on its people, nothing much has been done by Malaysians to help them," said Teoh, who recalled Malaysians contributing to earthquake victims in China before Haiti was hit.
He decided that he would contribute his restaurant 's collections on Feb 5 to those on the ground in the disaster-stricken country.
"Since I know a few celebrities, I asked them to come to the restaurant, enjoy some steamboat and have a good evening," he added.
His celebrity friends included Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation (MUMO) leader Andrea Fonseka and team, former Miss Malaysia Yasmin Yusuff and supermodel Amber Chia.
Besides contributing towards the fund, Fonseka and Chia also auctioned off their personal items to the highest bidding diner at the restaurant.
Fonseka's cute Adidas limited edition Missy Elliot tote bag got a generous bid of RM350 while Chia's funky Ferragamo sunglasses was auctioned for RM600.
"That is a good amount to get for a bag that cost S$60 from Singapore," said Fonseka.
The beauties, together with Teoh, walked around the restaurant with the donation box and posed for photographs with diners, albeit with a catch — an additional donation towards the worthy cause.
Guests at the restaurant fought off the heavy rain and traffic jams on Friday to enjoy a delightful seafood steamboat dinner amidst the company of celebrities and their gracious host, Teoh.
Diners contributed to a total of RM15,715 at the end of the evening, with Fonseka and Chia raising an additional RM4,140.
With a total of RM19,855 collected, Teoh's goal of providing assistance for those in Haiti is now well under way. Other celebrities who supported 'Dine For Haiti' cause included cabaret star Joanne Kam Po Po, television personality Ben Ibrahim and comedian Douglas Lim.
