MUAR Umno branch chief Datuk Kadar Shah Sulaiman's house in Shah Alam's Section 13 was broken into yesterday and a maid who was alone in the bungalow allegedly gang-raped.

Initial reports say six to seven parangwielding men, all of whom wore masked, broke into the house in the early hours of the morning. Police have arrested two men and are on the trail of the others.

Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the incident which is believed to have occurred between 1am and 2.30am. Kadar Shah was abroad at the time.

A source said police have not ruled out that the incident may have been an "inside job". The case has been classified as armed robbery and rape.

Kadar Shah was in the news recently as the man who assisted in matters related to the "dramatic escape" of Manohara Odelia Pinot, the 17-year-old Indonesian-American wife from her Kelantan prince husband.

Kadar Shah when contacted by the Malay Mail last night said he did not have details on the incident, adding that he had been away in Jakarta for two days on a business trip.

"Police called me at 4 this morning and told me that my house was ransacked. I am not aware of anything else and can't say more," he said.
