GROOVY: Justine works her magic for the camera in one of her favourite pieces. These pictures are hers.

I HAVE to admit. I did not want to highlight this blog in the beginning. It was a rare gem in a blogosphere filled with blogshops that hawk the same old stuff.

But since I've stumbled on The Vintage Socialites at http://dressforyesteryear.blogspot.com/, I head there every morning, religiously.

Updates come almost daily and if you're not fast, there goes the hottest dress of the day!

My mum is flabbergasted that I would actually buy these vintage dresses, similar to the dresses she once owned, but has given away to charity!

Well, her daughter now is on the vintage craze and I believe everyone should jump on board!

The blog is run by 35-year-old Justine Teh, who admits with a laugh that she is a little mature to start blogging "if you look at all the young fashion bloggers around these days".

"I started blogging in November last year and since then, I've had over 16,000 hits. I am still surprised at that number and how quickly my products sell. Sometimes I have customers screaming at me for not informing them of when I have posted new items, because by the time they get there, most of them are already sold," says Teh, who is visibly excited when talking about her blog.

Starting her career as a fashion designer for baby clothing and even bridal gowns, she quit to join Topshop as a sales promoter because working with a corporation meant conforming her design skills to meet the appeal of the masses.

She has no regrets today because her decision has proved to be useful.

Working on the floor has taught her all about visual merchandising, stock inventory and even people skills, which helps Teh run her own fashion blog better.

However it was not all rosy in the beginning.

"My biggest challenge was the technical aspects. I was a complete Luddite! My mother bought me a laptop and I didn't even know how to use it! I had to learn everything on my own, from the basics to how to set up a blog."

FLASHBACK: It looks good then, it looks even hotter now!

"For me, it is always a pleasure to browse through pretty things, which is why I have made my posts as attractive as possible - just like window displays.

"I try to capture the details on the photos as much as I can, so you can almost ‘feel' the texture and cut of the clothes," says Teh.

And caught us she has!

Check out the blog's sidebar! It brings out the "vintage" feel through and through.

There are even pictures of her mum from way back when. She was Miss Inter-bank 1969! I guess we know where she gets her style from.

Also, before every posting which Justine has thoughtfully grouped, she puts up a collection of pictures according to the style - minis, boho or the loud 80s - all of which work to serve as an inspiration for her and her readers too.

It makes as a great tip on how you can work that vintage dress you just bought!

Here Teh shares with us more of her thoughts on the blogosphere.

Why did you choose to blog?

It's freedom, in every way. I love being my own boss and not having to answer to anybody. I love the artistic freedom I have now to express myself through the design of my blog, which, you may have noticed, is quite elaborate compared with others who go for the more minimalist approach and of course, the freedom to pick and post what I myself love.

I will not put up a dress just because it is certain to sell or because it is the ‘in thing'. All the items you see on my blog are carefully handpicked, for their quality and their uniqueness.

I also get to style and do the art direction, with some help from my model, Elle.

Have you any regrets?

None at all! This has changed my life for the better, to say the least. I get to travel all over the country, Penang, Malacca, Johor... in search of beautiful clothes. I have flexible working hours, and most of all, I get the most intense satisfaction when my customers, many of whom have become my friends, tell me how much my clothes mean to them, and to see them treasure the way these clothes deserve to be treasured.

The "Blogosphere". What does it mean to you?

Not much, I am afraid. I know there is a group of bloggers who meet regularly to talk shop and socialise, but I am very much a solitary creature.

You could say I am caught up in my own world of vintage, which is my true passion, and I have very little time for much else.

Do you have any funny incidents through blogging?

There was a lady who wanted to exchange an item she had bought at another blog with an item on mine. My immediate thought was to ask her "Dear, do you think you can go to Zara and give them an item you had bought from MNG in exchange for something there?" But I kept my big mouth shut (laughs) and just didn't reply to her email.
