18-year-old girl and her 2 uncles nabbed with RM100,000 drugs
IT was a "family business" of distributing drugs in the Cheras area for an 18-year-old and her two uncles, a 30-year-old close relative and a 28-year-old (believed distantly related by marriage). The latter was found to have a 'long-time record in criminal acitivities.
At 10pm on Sunday, a police patrol car from the Cheras police station spotted the trio acting suspiciously at Taman Midah, Cheras and when the policemen searched one of the suspects, they found 80 tablets of Erimin 5 pills on him.
"They then searched the suspect's car, a Proton Waja, and found 3,250 tablets of Erimin 5 pills and 1,240 ecstasy pills in the trunk," Cheras district police chief ACP Ahmad Amir Mohd Hashim said yesterday. "We also found big packets of white powder that we believe is an ingredient used for processing drugs."
The suspects from Perak were nabbed after coming back from Genting Highlands theme park where they were believed to have distributed drugs.
"We are checking for the source of the drugs and we believe the drugs were meant for the Cheras market and entertainment outlets around the area."
One of the suspects was also believed to be involved in car theft and drug abuse.
The car that they were using was reported stolen from Putrajaya in February.
The seized drugs were worth more than RM100,000 and the suspects have been remanded until Sunday.
