Porto puts RM150m asking price on Alves
FC PORTO have sent out a warning that a large sum will be required to land their star defender Bruno Alves — they will only study offers of €30 million (RM149.7m).
European champions Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the Portugal international’s qualities and reports suggested that the Catalans are willing to include Hernandes in a deal for Alves in an attempt to lower the cash fee they will have to spend.
Reports in the Italian media yesterday claimed AC Milan were keen to acquire the services of Alves for a fee of €20 million after failing to land the Portuguese’s club colleague, Aly Cissokho.
But, according to news daily A BOLA, Porto will only listen to offers for Alves that match the player’s release clause of €30 million.
Alves has expressed his desire for a fresh challenge but Porto are standing firm over their stated valuation — unlike what happened last year with winger Ricardo Quaresma, who left the club for just €18.6 million when his initial price tag was €40 million.
