MANOHARA ISSUE: Kelantan royalty got me in — Kadar
DATUK Kadar Shah Sulaiman Ninam Shah insists that he got the blessings of the Kelantan palace to act as negotiator in the Manohara-Tengku Fakhry affair.
“On Manohara’s escape issue, I have previously stated, and continue to state, that I had the blessings
of the Kelantan palace to be involved in the matter as the negotiator/mediator to resolve the matter between Tengku Fakhry and Manohara,” he said in a statement to the Malay Mail yesterday.
“At no time did the Kelantan palace issue any statement expressly denying my involvement in the matter and their blessings accordingly.”
Kadar came into the limelight recently when he admitted to helping Indonesian model Manohara Odelia Pinot’s escape from her husband Tengku Fakhry, who is the Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan.
He said he stepped in as negotiator to solve the issue at the behest of the Kelantan palace.
The escape from a hotel in Singapore also involved the local police.
The royal couple had gone to the republic to visit the Sultan of Kelantan, who was being treated for a heart ailment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
The Kelantan palace recently described the Tengku Fakhry-Manohara affair as something private between a husband and wife, and that the issue should be settled in accordance with the law.
