STRONG EMOTIONS: The Love Suicide at Sonezaki

Starting at 3pm, the movie stars Kaji Meiko, Uzaki Ryudo and Hidari Sachiko. It revolves around Tokubei, an employee at the soy sauce maker Hiranoya in Osaka, who is deeply in love with Ohatsu, a prostitute at the house of Temmay.

However, his employer and uncle Kyuemon wants him to marry his wife's niece and bribes his stepmother with money to pressure him into this marriage.

After learning about the bribery, Tokubei vows to return the money his stepmother has received but on his way, runs into his friend Kuheiji.

Kuheiji is in desperate need for money and so instead of returning the bribe money, Tokubei lends the money to Kuheji.
