In conjunction with the Super GT International Series which was held in Sepang last weekend, folks from the Northern region of the country were in the frenzy as well, with the Penang Juru City Carnival 2009.

Held at the Penang Juru City from June 12 till 14, The Juru Auto City Carnival saw a variety of events, ranging from a Super GT promo show, Super GT Queens Show, go kart race, Miss Auto City Carnival beauty pageant, Super GT race car demo, car audio competition, GT Car look-alike contest and many more. Other highlights included the on-going Shop in D'Park fashion factory outlets, fashion boutiques and fashion market which will be going on a daily basis.

Organised by the Penang Juru City management, the City Carnival saw an overwhelming response from the public, with around 10,000 visitors turning up throughout the whole event. One of the main participants was B1 club, a well known car customisation enthusiasts club in the northern region, represented by Joe and other members with around 25 cars, which pretty much was the highlight of the whole carnival.

With On The Road magazine as the official publication for the Auto City Carnival, there were also some big names involved in the event, such as Thunder Asia Super GT Team. Thunder even brought the Mosler GT racing car which took part in the Super GT race, together with team driver Melvin Choo, to do a demo and give the public a rough idea on what to expect during the race.

In all, the Penang Juru City Carnival was a huge success, achieving its objective to increase awareness
about the Super GT race among the public.
