Cocky Pepe

Defender confident Real will sweep everything but Galacticos can flop despite the many big signings

HOLA!

Real Madrid are going loco with their incredible spending for instant successe in the new season — thanks to president Florentino Perez, or Mr Galacticos.

Of course, Los Blancos still can’t believe and accept the fact that bitter rivals Barcelona have created history with the treble last season by winning Primera Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

No other Spanish club have done this before. And Real, including their fans, have turned green with envy and thus the plan to hire all those superstars — no matter how much it cost or how silly it may look.

El Loco’s old friend and a fanatical Real fan Juan Carlos, a security officer at Club de Campo in Madrid, must be all excited as well and just can’t wait for the new season to start.

He, like the rest of the Real fans, can now swagger all over the city and even snigger at Barca fans. And Real centreback Pepe has now boasted that Europe are running scared following their amazing signings even though the new season has yet to start.

“Other teams have reason to be scared because Kaka is an incredible player, as is Cristiano Ronaldo. They’re two great players, two great professionals who are ready to help the team. We welcome them in the dressing room with affection,” said Pepe.

Running scared? Not really... the other big clubs in Europe do have stars as well and why should they be scared. If they do, then the players must stop playing and open up night clubs, bars or some other businesses.

It’s not going to be just Real. Sure Real have bought superstars Kaka and Ronaldo. Then France international and Lyon striker Karim Benzema is set to join soon. Oh yes...they have also signed up Spain international centreback Raul Albiol from Valencia.

The other targets are big names — Inter Milan rightback Maicon, Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery and Valencia midfielder David Silva. But all these stars can’t guarantee success — especially instantly. Something can go wrong.

El Loco would love to see Pepe’s face if Real flop and the fans go against them — Galacticos or not. Actually, it may turn out to what some of the Malaysian fans say Galactikus rather than Galacticos. And the best part is that Pepe may well not find a place in the team if Maicon is signed.

This is because manager Manuel Pellegrini is expected to play Albiol and the versatile Sergio Ramos in the heart of defence. Ramos normally plays as a rightback. Barca have been rather quiet and without much fanfare.

What they are targeting now is Valencia and Spain international David Villa and Liverpool’s Argentina international midfielder Javier Mascherano. Their manager Josep Pep Guardiola is taking a cool approach as he prepares the new season.

Bono

RATTLE AND HUM: U2's Bono is impressed with Barcelona's style and humanitarian work

For example, he met with U2 star Bono before his concert at Nou Camp on Tuesday. Guardiola was happy to meet with Bono, on the Irishman’s request where they discussed Barca’s superb treble triumph and also the star’s music.

Bono greeted Guardiola with a hand shake and said: “Congratulations on being treble champions.

“I want to thank Barca for all the aid it has given us for this concert and above all the dedication it has shown to humanitarian causes such as the Unicef advertising on the jersey without getting any economic benefit. You are an example in a struggle that concerns us all.”

Guadiola also presented Bono with a Barca shirt — which the singer wore on stage during the concert. Well... Can’t wait seeing Pepe coming in as a substitute in the new season.

Adios!

Comments

Pepe as a substitute?? Pepe is the best centre back in Spain and anyone who denies that just has a plain and obvious animosity towards him. Nonetheless, i think Real will struggle, especially if they continue to use Ronaldo on the wing instead of as a striker as Ferguson did.

FC Barcelona exists because of Real Madrid. FC Barcelona breathes because of Real Madrid. The entire World Football considers Real Madrid before saying a single word when talking about the best club. Football could live without FC Barcelona. Nobody can live without Real, the club that created the Champions League. And when everybody that are living now on Earth die, Real will still be the club with most European crowns. Wow that's a fact! Siempre Real! Hasta la muerte!

Plenty of Real's glories were achieved during the years when they were no strong clubs, referees who were Real fans, and when there was no offside rule. Let's see how they do this time around after their extravagant shopping.
