Socso’s meet-the-people sessions
THE Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) has called on workers to take "full advantage" of the Social
Security Organisation's (Socso) "Meet-the-Client" sessions held every first Thursday of the month, to solve their problems.
MTUC vice-president A. Balasubramaniam said Malaysian workers have for many years been exploited by unscrupulous people claiming to be "consultants" to help them file Socso claims on their behalf.
Socso, Balasubramaniam said, introduced the sessions to enable affected workers to deal directly with the organisation, instead of going through middlemen who would charge them high fees.
Socso introduced the session last month, and it is held from 8am to 4.30pm at all its branch offices throughout the country.
