NOOR AZA M: No deadline for Kadar to return

POLICE have refuted the claim by Datuk Kadar Shah Sulaiman Ninam Shah that his personal assistant and  his office have been in constant contact with the cops in connection with the robberyrape case that occurred at his Shah Alam home on June 21.

Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Azam Jamaluddin said contrary to the claim, police have not been contacted by his aides.

"As far as I know, my officers and I have not been contacted by him or his aides. We were also not informed of his whereabouts," he said.

"I would not know if he had contacted police from other districts, but we have not been contacted."

Noor Azam, however, said that police have not set a deadline for Kadar, who is away in the US, to return and assist in police investigations.

"We are just going to wait for his return," said Noor Azam, who declined to comment further on the matter.

On June 30, Malay Mail had quoted Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar as saying that police were puzzled over the whereabouts of Kadar Shah,  the "negotiator" who helped in the dramatic escape of Manohara Odelia Pinot.

Khalid had said that police were baffled why Kadar Shah had not come to assist in investigations despite his home being broken into, and his maid allegedly raped by the gang of robbers.

Until today, police have yet to determine what had been taken from Kadar Shah's property.

In response to the report, Kadar Shah had claimed that his aide and office in Shah Alam had been in constant contact.

He had also said that he did not know why police required his presence to conduct the investigation.

"My personal assistant and my office are there to provide all information necessary," he had said, adding that he was abroad when the robbery- gang rape occurred.
