SELF-PROCLAIMED  prince Elie Youseff Najem, 48, is baffled why his 22-year-old Filipina lover  Rosalia Viray jumped to her death in the nude.

"I don't know why...it's strange because her family in Manila also can't make any sense of this," Najem told Malay Mail. He said she might have taken her life as the family in Manila had major financial problems.

Najem had on Tuesday said that Rosalia whom he referred to as his "wife",  and called Koko: "I had gone to take my bath when my wife was talking on the phone to her mother and sister in the Philippines. When I heard knocks on the main door, I called Koko to open it but there was no response from her.

"When I opened the door, security guards told me she had fallen from the 14th floor outside my unit."

He had said Rosalia was two-and-a-half months' pregnant and that they had been married for nine months.

Najem described Rosalia as "a nice lady and wonderful wife", saying he was at a loss how to go on with
life without his wife and baby.

In his police report, he said the woman was unstable and had alledgedly committed suicide.

Najem's neighbours have claimed they had frequently heard a man "shouting away" inside the unit.

"We always hear a man shouting away inside the unit but we are not sure if he was having a quarrel with anyone," said a neighbour.

Najem first "wife " Farinnie Farid, niece of a prominent doctor, was 19 when he "mar r ied" her soon after arriving in Malaysia in 2006.

He said Farinnie left him three years ago with their son and daughter. Najem, who claims to be a polio and  cancer victim, startled the nation in 2006 when he announced an unheard of RM1 billion donation to the National Cancer Council of Malaysia (Makna). It never happened. In the following months, the soap opera of the "billionaire" and his incredible claims of riches continued unashamedly.

"Puzzling"? Indeed. As in why on earth must a billionaire who claims to be able to make multi-million dollar donations here and there make a pitiful "support me thank you need your money at least one dollar" plea in broken English for donations on what appears to be his own his website. [ see http://www.lordelieyoussefnajem.com/banking.html and http://www.lordelieyoussefnajem.com/charity.html ] And by the way, the website stated his title as "Lord" as in "Lord Elie Youssef Najem" while elsewhere on the same website, he also lays claim to a "Dr" title, as does several of his family. So, if that website is really his, puzzling indeed, no?
